[Ah, it's the girl. She seems to be back in good health—which is about what he expected, after hearing of the efforts to gather her friends to restore her. What kind of mess caused all of that, he wonders.]
I did. I take it you've recovered fully?
[You know, no big deal. He just carried her bridal style halfway across the city.]
[Oooon the one hand, she doesn't really TALK about her crystal, on the other, who is Kylo Ren going to tell? Besides, she's pretty sure he can sense her in the force the same way Obi-Wan and Anakin can so trying to play off the whole "oh no, I'm totally normal" is pretty much pointless.]
Both, it heals me and puts me in a sleep kinda thing for a bit. It can heal... anything, actually. But I have to be unconscious and in a bad enough condition or so taken by surprise that I can't react fast enough for it to do something without my permission. Like I got stabbed pretty badly when I was younger [Never mind that she was the one who did the stabbing.] so it wrapped around me to heal me. [And then when she's older, someone will try and shoot her with a laser and she won't be able to react fast enough to it, so it'll encase her again... Unless she just outright kills that family but she hasn't actually decided on how to deal with the Black Moon clan yet.]
The crystal itself when it's like that is unbreakable... I think, I mean if you destroy the planet I'm on then yeah, I'd go with it, but on its own, I'm pretty safe inside of it. Although, I did get swallowed whole when it did it the first time, but like, she couldn't digest me or anything, I was just... in her.
[Even if he did know that the stabbing was her own fault, regardless of whether it was an accident, it's not like he could really judge. Attempting to stab himself to test out a healing power would totally be something he would do, let's be honest.]
Interesting.
[He says it in a way that makes it clear it's not like the interesting that actually means that's weird or I have no idea what to think; the mechanics of supernatural powers are one of the things that pique his curiosity the most.]
How long did it take you to heal from the stabbing?
Just a few hours, I think. Not very long at all. I was still pretty new to my abilities back then so that might be why. Now I can pretty much heal within like... an hour... the whole... current crystallization thing not counting.
[Kylo would find it a little strange if that wasn't the case. Not all of those with powers like theirs are given the opportunity to realize it, even if his own manifested when he was young.]
It doesn't sound like that sort of thing is common for your world. [Especially with how she'd worded that network post however long ago about her healing abilities. It gives off the impression that she was used to hiding it.]
Oh, it's not. I mean, there's different kinds of magic on my world to begin with, but my thing... it's complicated and not something I totally get.
[Well, she DOES but also she doesn't.] Magic isn't common though, like, at all. Even though there are others who can do it, it's still rare. Like three of my loved ones can see into the future in different ways but that's not... common, ya know? Like, one of them was even considered an outcast cause of her abilities.
Mnn, that's... very very true in our case. [Mostly because, well, they were all senshi and all of them were her royal guard and eventual husband soooo.]
I'm sure somewhere someday people with magic can be treated equally and all that.
I have my doubts. If we aren't ostracized, we're put on a pedestal.
[He's experienced a little bit of both. If millennia of living alongside Force-sensitives hasn't been enough to change things, he's not sure any length of time will be.]
We last this long by going in a circle. Improvements are always followed by regression, eventually. The details change, but the core is the same.
[He doesn't sound particularly glum in his tone, though; he's accepted it as the natural course of things. There is no perfection, only continuous effort.]

[Look, she was in a bad place mentally and physically and emotionally so hallucinating was not entirely out of the question but JUST TO BE SURE.]
HI HELLO I'M HERE NOW; voice
I did. I take it you've recovered fully?
[You know, no big deal. He just carried her bridal style halfway across the city.]
[Voice]
Oh thank god, I was going to be more worried if I hallucinated the whole thing!
I have, yeah! Better than before, haven't like this in a long time!

[He says it in his usual serious tone (meaning it's devoid of any actual relief or happiness or anything) but hey. It's something.]
I was wondering what could have done that kind of damage, but I expected there'd be a way to fix it either way.
[He wasn't all that worried, basically. What with the power of friendship or whatever.]

[Her silver crystal is somewhat sentient in that it acts on her behalf whether or not she wants it to.]
But yep! All better! Even better than better! I haven't felt this good in a really long time. I feel like myself again.

The defense mechanism is that crystallization?
[That sounds slightly annoying, to not be able to control it.]
Does it actually heal you, or just keep you in stasis until something can be done?
no subject

[It had certainly felt... off when he encountered her just before that. He supposes it's no surprise.]
Lucky for you to have that power.
no subject
Well, I was born with it, but it only awoke, I guess, when I was 14. I probably could have gone my entire life not knowing I had that power.

[Or get inexorably linked through the mysterious energy that grants them powers. You know. Either or.]
I'd be more surprised if you were treated equally by those who didn't have them.

[He's experienced a little bit of both. If millennia of living alongside Force-sensitives hasn't been enough to change things, he's not sure any length of time will be.]
People never really change.
no subject
[Usagi will and has been both... so...]
I think... people can change, they just have to be given a chance. We don't last this long by staying the same, right?
