[And Kylo isn't going to stand here and let Leia continue with her misconceptions.]
Attack is a strong word. All it does is paralyze. [And ankles, mostly. It's still wonderful, though, and Kylo is more fond of it than he should be, probably. Said droid straightens up, pulling its wheeled legs closer to itself so its body stands slightly higher, as if proud.]
If you have to know, I restored it. It was apparently freezing people, so I destroyed it and took the parts.
[The blaster-looking piece was actually a petrifying beam, but it's better not to let Mother know about it literally turning people to stone at one point.]
[As if "paralyze" isn't just as serious a word when it comes to a droid built by someone known to nearly all of Verens as a murderer. Her gaze quickly flits back down to the droid once more, but it doesn't linger there. Ben, after all, is more interesting and important than his droid.
And here is where the conflict lies, because Leia is still on edge--her stiff body language giving that away--and she has things to do and people's safety to ensure, but part of her, a selfish part, wants to seize this chance to get to know a bit more about Ben. Because she's not sure how long, if ever, it will be until Ben offers up more information about himself like this.
She sighs, glancing away once again as she tries to sort through these conflicting thoughts.]
...I didn't know you could build functional droids. I'd like to hear more about it, once things are sorted.
[There, that's the biggest concession she can make to her more selfish wants, not that she expects Ben to actually agree to that.]
[And she would be absolutely right to not think he'll agree. He looks down his nose as he regards her, reinforcing the distance between them.]
There are many things about me that you will never know while we're here. Don't bother hoping that will change.
[Seeing its master treat her with obvious antagonism, the little droid also gives its own stern kzzt-kzzt. It probably doesn't quite reach the threatening effect it was going for. Kylo just nudges it back inside as he halfway turns to do the same.]
Are you done now? I was in the middle of something.
[The something was only a conversation with Hux, but it's still something he deems more important than the interruption.]
[She tilts her head, her eyes narrowed at him, for both his attitude now and for his refusal to accept this Anakin situation as anything serious. The droid and its angry buzzing are all but ignored by Leia at the present moment, since it's no danger and Ben clearly isn't talking any further about how he built it or repaired it or whatever he managed to do to make it actually functional.]
I guess I should thank you, at least. For not telling him.
[and she's just as determined now to find out who it was that did tell him.]
[And if she has nothing else to say, he'll turn to close the door behind him. He'll be trying very hard to not let the intrusion rouse his temper that much, but the day has effectively been tarnished.]
[Hux is angry, humiliated, and covered with the remains of a rather large insect. Of course, why did he expect any sort of mission with Organa to go well? Something has to explode on him with the day ending in complete bantha shit. And he smells like it too.
The thought of Organa saving him only sours his mood, not helped by the fact that Rey saved him just three weeks ago. Perhaps he needs to cut back his trips on missions for a while, because this is just embarrassing.
And he definitely doesn't want Ren to see him like this.
While he considers climbing in from the backyard, he doesn't want to go through that nonsense and instead quietly walks to the front door. Hopefully Ren will be in the back training or just meditating in his room. Hux can't tell sometimes.
No point wasting time just standing here, however, so he unlocks the door and silently steps inside.
[Whatever Ren had been doing, there wasn't much chance of him not noticing Hux's return—meditation would have helped him be more attuned to the other man's presence, and anywhere else he typically is, he would have heard or seen it.
Currently, he's training with his lightsaber in the backyard, and although there's a little bit of furniture, a glass door, and distance in the way, the space is open enough for him to catch a glimpse of Hux out of the corner of his eye.
He can't really tell much from this distance, however, aside from the fact that Hux appears to be grumpy and a bit dirty. From what, he has no idea. But at least he appears unharmed, which is the important part. For now, Kylo just watches.]
[Good, it seems that Ren is in the backyard. Doesn't appear that he notices him either, Hux is sure that he'd be coming up to him by now if he did. So, he's probably fine, the great sneaky person that he is. Good job, Hux.
He quietly walks into his room to take a shower, deciding to use this time to get himself cleaned. It'd definitely set him in a better mood. Ren won't notice that something happened and then he can avoid explaining that his mom saved him from a giant insect.
[Of course, when Armitage gets out of that shower, he'll be met with a robed Kylo Ren sitting on his bed smelling of ozone, his fingers threaded and elbows resting against his knees. He's clearly been waiting for the man to come out for... a little while, at least.
He doesn't say anything at first, either, just to let Armitage get in the first word. How nice of him.]
[What-- what is Ren doing in his room?! The very wet general just stares at his partner with a stunned expression, before it quickly morphs into irritation as he keeps the towel around him. Whatever the knight wants to say, he can wait. The nerve, barging into Hux's room without warning and just sitting on his bed like Hux showering is a big inconvenience for him.]
[Well, apparently something happened to put Hux in a spectacularly bad mood. Now Kylo has to know. He sits up, frowning and making absolutely no moves to leave.]
[Good, at least Ren is willing to agree with him on that. He turns to the closet and slowly grabs his clothes, deciding to not even bother telling Ren to give him some privacy. It's not like Ren hasn't seen him unclothed before.
Still, he quickly dresses, but at least he's already feeling better in fresh clothes. More like himself, in control.]
I had an unfortunate run in with a rather large insect, that's all. When it died, it splattered me with its remains, thus ruining my clothes. It's why I'm irritated, Kylo.
[He's not lying, but he's definitely leaving a lot of stuff out. But thinking that they're done, Hux moves to exit his room.]
[He stops to grumpily look at Ren, knowing that the knight would just follow him everywhere if he just walked out of his room. He's annoyingly stubborn like that.]
I'm fine, shouldn't that be your main focus? I was in danger of getting killed by it.
[That's enough to turn his displeased stare into a scowl.]
I am glad for that, and I would be proud of you for finally managing to deal with danger on your own if that was all this was, but something tells me that's not the case.
[He looks at Ren with a scowl of his own, trying to hide his feelings about that whole event from him. But just the thought of Leia Organa saving him causes his room to become cold.]
[In lieu of a response, the knight simply lets out a slow breath, his stare never wavering from Hux's face. He's waiting for the other man to actually get to the heart of the matter; he can only stall for so long, and Kylo doesn't want to waste energy playing along.]
