As of early February, as a result of breaking his heartstone, Ren no longer remembers his family. Instead, he is under the impression that he was stuck in the foster system until he aged out, and largely had to take care of himself.
He thinks his heartstone reminded him of those one or two foster families that were good to him before he had to leave due to his own (probably violent) actions, and he has regrets over it. However, those regrets are not nearly as much as those in his "normal" memories, making him a little more confident in himself and a little more open.
(Debating on whether he's forgotten the dramatic arson due to having no motive, but it rarely comes up. Hmm. Options.)
