While it was odd to let Luke Skywalker go after they were trying to find him for so long, Hux felt that it was overall the best decision to make. Death wasn't permanent here, at least according to several individuals in this city. It was easy to doubt, but still alarming enough for Hux to leave the Jedi alone. They couldn't go and cause a scene in the middle of a city when they were still unsure about the consequences here. Besides, he needed to make sure Kylo Ren was going to make it-- it was Snoke's direct orders to bring him back and the general had no intention to fail him.
He couldn't afford another mistake after Starkiller Base.
The failure of his life's work threatened to overtake him sometimes, but Hux managed to push it to the corner of his mind as he focused on the unconscious knight in front of him. The medical staff have proven to be adequate in their aid and it made Hux slightly less anxious about the situation. Although, they still needed to get Ren's helmet off and Hux unfortunately needed the man to be awake to get that thing off him.
"Ren." The general was standing by his bedside now, frowning at the stupid mask that was covering him. Ugh, go figure that Ren was still a pain in the ass even while asleep. Hux reached over to his shoulder to try and shake him without injuring him further.
