[Perhaps when he's well again, he'll appreciate the fact that he wasn't able to get annoyed over Han's clear anxiety. Even without the apathy, he'd have been tired enough. It's much easier to just not care about it.]
Mmhmm. [Sure thing, Dad. He'll sit here and be good at doing nothing. Although, he did mention getting a crystal, which brings something to mind. It takes little effort to think, so:]
Armitage is going, as well. Maybe you'll see him there...
[Does Han even know who 'Armitage' is? Eh, who cares.]
[having spent his first night back cooing over leia and natsume, as soon as it gets to be light out han gets dressed and heads for the residence of his other son. you know, the original flavor.
he's pleased that he remembers where it is--it's a little weird, having all these memories kind of shoved in between what he remembers from back home, but at least he's not going into things blind again. he'd hate to forget what he has with this...version...of ben, even if they've had some rocky periods.
he gets to the door and, after a moment of thought, decides knocking would be the best choice. of course, as we know, han's definition of knocking is a little extra compared to the average person.]
BEN!! YOU HOME?
[is what he bellows cheerfully as he bangs on the door. he's baaaaaack...]
[He'd felt when Han had returned, of course, as expected; and though a part of him had feared he might be the man he'd pushed off that walkway, he'd sent that ridiculous message shortly afterward about potentially dropping (obviously) his younger self. It had alleviated some of his worries, at least, although he still didn't quite know what to expect or think. Or feel.
He'd put it aside for the moment, deciding to confront that issue at a less stupid hour... which it currently still has yet to become. What he doesn't expect, however, is for Han to immediately come and bother his son as soon as the sun is up, so the loud knock and veritable screaming through the door is enough to startle him and make him nearly drop his cup of tea.
... Kylo already has a headache.
He still has yet to completely shake the exhaustion from the amulet drain a week and a half prior, so he's woken up a little later than his usual break of dawn and is still shuffling around in his pajamas. With a heavy sigh, he manages to drag himself over to the door and open it to stare dully at his father.]
Please stop. [The neighbors probably hate Han's bellowing, too.]
Edited (GOD THIS IS THE LAST ONE I PROMISE) 2017-06-09 08:07 (UTC)
[an absolutely radiant grin appears on han's face when kylo appears at the door. it doesn't matter that he's in pajamas, or that he looks overly tired and honestly a little thin. it's ben and that's enough to put a smile on han's face.
the previous version of han was always too cautious to get too physical with kylo--he wasn't sure if it was his place, if that was the kind of relationship they had, etc, etc. this version of han doesn't give a shit, he's had ben just long enough to get used to the concept of cuddling and he's going to have his fill, dammit. he barely gives kylo any time to take in his appearance before he throws his arms around kylo's neck, uncaring of the fact he has to reach up to do it. who's getting pets on the back of his head? kylo is, that's who. good luck prying him off.]
Look at you!
[at least that bellow is muffled by kylo's pajamas. small mercies?]
[It's thanks to that previous cautiousness that Kylo has no idea what's coming, and he's a bit too tired to react quickly enough to avoid being pulled into the awful awkward hug.]
Hrk—
[It takes him a second to regain his balance and muster up the energy to react properly, but soon enough he's trying to pry Han's hands off of him, gritting his teeth in frustration. It is far too early for this nonsense.]
[Ren's own face scrunches up with distaste—this is far, far too mushy for Kylo Ren to handle at six in the morning. He does his best to swat Han's hands away, as limited as his success may be.]
Will you cut it out? I am thirty-one years old. This isn't news.
[And partly covered in burn scars from his stupid unstable lightsaber, yes—particularly the right one. ... Uguu.
Ren supposes he can allow his father to hold his hands if he really wants, for now, but he glowers at Han regardless. There's even a moment where he reconsiders his belligerence. ... nope, still going to tsun.]
You're perfectly aware of what I'm like here, don't pretend you're that surprised.
[yep, trust han to zoom in on that detail and stroke that hand in particular. scars give you character, you know, but he's just gonna. pet it better anyway.]
It's different now that I caught up to you, though.
[not even kylo's tsuning can save him from the tenderness in han's voice.]
[Joke's on you, Han—he can't feel that one. So his endeavors to ignore it are significantly easier, despite the tone of his father's voice.]
How is it different, exactly.
[Ren already knew that Han "caught up" to him thanks to that nonsense he sent out without thinking last night. He'd nearly slapped his own forehead at it, but managed to simply roll over and shut it out. Unfortunately, it's going to stay with him like all of the Solo Shitposts.]
[he hums in his throat as he turns that hand this way and that, apparently unperturbed by the fact that they're still standing in the doorway. if kylo wants to have this conversation here, that's fine.]
It's a little hard to describe. [but he looks up at kylo anyway, wearing a softer expression than he's ever given him in verens.] It's like, you were always mine. But now you're mine.
[Kylo can't stand seeing that gaze, and so his own eyes move elsewhere, a slight tightness in his jaw as a pang of guilt hits him and causes the air around them to cool by a few degrees. His response is hardly above a mumble.]
That makes no sense.
[That's a lie. It does make sense, at least somewhat; it's the same way that this Han wasn't quite his father, and still isn't really yet, simply because of the experiences they've gone through.
But arguing is the only recourse he has now to avoid getting emotional, and so he's clinging to it.]
[There's no way Kylo can avoid pointing out hypocrisy when he sees it. With a low noise of annoyance, he turns to head inside, heading over to the kitchen and picking up his cup of tea off of a side table on the way.]
I was about to start breakfast when you started screaming through my door. —and keep your voice down, Hux is still sleeping. [Hopefully.]
[victorious, han follows him inside, closing the door behind him. like a normal person, thankfully.]
You're still seeing that guy? [he complains mildly, with the air of someone who didn't really expect to hear differently but is nonetheless disappointed.] I guess I can keep it down if it means I don't have to deal with him today.
[He says this in an annoyed way, like Han should know things won't change that drastically in such a short period. Not that he knows how long passed for Han, or like he's about to actually admit he's seeing Hux. It's an easy way to shove back any anxiety he may have had about his father's "return point."
Ren gets to work in the kitchen, fetching a pan and a few ingredients. As much as he'd prefer Han to leave, he's resigned to the man staying for a little longer.]
